Hours Calculator Instructions
Follow these simple steps to use the Hours Calculator:
- Access the Calculator: Open the HTML page containing the calculator through any modern web browser (Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.).
- Entering Time Manually:
- Locate the "Start Time" field.
- Click on the input box and select or manually enter the time from which you want to start the calculation. The format is HH:MM (24-hour format).
- Example: Enter
21:00
for 9 PM or11:00
for 11 AM. - Locate the "End Time" field.
- Click on the input box and select or manually enter the time you want to calculate until. The format is HH:MM (24-hour format).
- Example: Enter
11:00
for 11 AM or03:00
for 3 AM.
- Using Predefined Options:
- Alternatively, you can use the Predefined Options section to quickly choose common time ranges.
- Click on any of the predefined links under "Options".
- Each predefined link already has a start and end time (e.g.,
9 PM to 11 AM
).
- Calculating the Time Difference: Once you've either entered the times manually or selected a predefined option, click the "Calculate" button.
- Viewing the Results:
- After clicking "Calculate", the result will be displayed below the form in the "Result" section.
- The result will show:
- The formatted start time to end time.
- The total hours and minutes between the times.
- The total minutes between the times.
- Using the Predefined Links Again: You can always return to the Predefined Options if you need to select a different time range. Clicking any link will update the start and end times, and then re-run the calculation.
Example Usage:
- Manual Entry:
- Start Time: 9 PM (
21:00
) - End Time: 11 AM (
11:00
) - Calculate: Clicking the "Calculate" button will display:
9 PM to 11 AM
. Result: 14 hours 0 minutes or 840 minutes.
- Start Time: 9 PM (
- Using a Predefined Option:
- Click the 9 PM to 11 AM option from the predefined list.
- Then go to above near Calculate : Button "Output" will display:
9 PM to 11 AM
. Result: 14 hours 0 minutes or 840 minutes.
Troubleshooting:
- Invalid Time Format: Ensure you're entering or selecting time in the HH:MM format (24-hour time).
- Empty Input: Both Start Time and End Time are required fields for the calculation to work. Make sure to fill in both fields or select a predefined option.
Tips:
- Use Predefined Options for faster time selection.
- Double-check Start Time and End Time to avoid errors in your calculation.
